Ingold prizes are named in honour of Sir Christopher Ingold (1893-1970), a pioneer of mechanistic organic chemistry, who was head of the UCL Department of Chemistry from 1937 until his retirement in 1961. They are awarded annually by the Department to students who have achieved the highest academic standards during the preceding session.
This year, it was is awarded to two students per cohort and was a general prize that reflected academic performance as a whole.
