It is with heavy hearts and incredible sadness that we announce the passing of Martyn Hales.

A teacher, mentor and a friend to generations of St George’s pupils, families and colleagues, to many Martyn was St George’s. The young man who in 1981 embarked on the adventure of a lifetime to Rome would go on to serve as Principal from 2007 until his retirement in 2018. 

St George’s extends its deepest condolences to Martyn’s wife Sue and children Lauren and Robbie. At the appropriate time, the school will communicate plans for commemorating all that he brought to our lives and our community.
